Digitilt 09 Indicator
The
Digitilt 09 Indicator is a simple, lower cost alternative to the Digitilt
DataMate inclinometer readout. It offers the same resolution as the DataMate,
but does not have the automatic depth prompts and recording capabilities
of the DataMate.
Overview of Operation
- At the office, prepare a field data sheet. It should list the starting
depth for the survey and provide 5 columns for data: depths, A0 reading,
A180 reading, B0 reading, and B180 reading.
- At the site, connect control cable to the probe and the indicator.
Then switch the indicator on. Insert the probe with wheels in the A0
direction. Lower the probe to the bottom of the casing installation.
Wait 10-minutes while the probe adjusts to the temperature in the casing.
Then begin the survey.
- Raise the probe to the starting depth. Write down the A0 reading,
then use the toggle switch to view the B0 reading. Write down the B0
reading, then raise the probe to the next depth and write down both
readings. Continue until you reach the top of the casing.
- Withdraw the probe from the casing, rotate it 180 degrees, and lower
it to the bottom of the casing. Now you will obtain the A180 and B180
readings.
- Raise the probe to the starting depth. Write down the A180 reading,
and toggle to the B180 reading and write it down. Raise the probe to
the next depth, and write down both readings. Continue until you reach
the top of the casing.
- When you return to the office, enter readings from the field data
sheet into your computer. We recommend that you enter the readings into
DMM for Windows. DMM's automatic checksum calculations will help you
detect transcription errors. Then you can process the data in either
DMM or DigiPro.
Advantages
Simple Operation: Very little training is required. Use your training
time to explain proper handling of the inclinometer probe.
Easy to Read: The large character display helps eliminate errors.
Lower Cost: The Digitilt 09 is about two-thirds the price of the
Digitilt DataMate.
High Resolution: The Digitilt 09 offers the same resolution as
the Digitilt DataMate.
